Partnering with Colorado rescue groups

Everything is bigger in Texas. Unfortunately, this includes the stray dog population. Texas shelters are overflowing, and rescue groups are stretched thin. Sadly, this means healthy dogs are often euthanized at Texas shelters due to lack of space.

Colorado has a happier story—they have more adopters than dogs available! Our partnership with rescues in Colorado gives a Texas dog a second chance at life!

How it works

TSDP teams up with receiving partner rescue groups to save dogs at risk of euthanasia at overcrowded shelters.

The dog stays with a temporary TSDP foster until transport day (typically 2–4 weeks). Apply to foster.

The dog travels by plane or by van to our rescue partner.

The dog trades in their cowboy boots for skis and finds a new home in Colorado!

225 dogs transported since August 2022!

Forever homes

It’s hard to believe these dogs almost lost their lives. Now they have families to call their own!
