Our First Rescue: Siri
Surviving on the streets
On March 20, 2016, while searching for another dog, we found a nursing momma scavenging the streets for food.
We fed her everything we had, which she ate voraciously. She was starving.
When we looked closer, we noticed her eye injury.
Search for the puppies
We watched her in panic as she walked in the middle of the streets. We knew we could not leave her behind.
But what about her puppies? We had no idea where they could be, and we couldn’t take their momma away from them.
We needed “Siri’s” help!
“Hey Siri. Take us to your puppies.”
We let her lead us on a very long leash. She led us a mile to an abandoned house where we found 8 adorable puppies! We named her Siri in honor of her navigation skills.
Happy ending
Siri did a fantastic job raising the puppies. The entire family spent a few weeks together in foster care, and then everyone was adopted by wonderful families!
Today, Siri loves lounging on the couch, cuddling with people, and playing with other dogs!
